Oxnard College Athletics is proud to announce that Tony McMillin will take over as Head Coach of the Women's Softball program following the departure of Bianca Noriega, who has accepted a full-time Head Softball Coach position at Monterey Peninsula College.
Coach Noriega leaves Oxnard College after successfully rebuilding the Condor softball program over the past three seasons. Under her leadership, the program made significant strides both competitively and culturally, culminating in a third-place finish in the Western State Conference North Division this past season. Oxnard College Athletics thanks Coach Noriega for her dedication, leadership, and commitment to student-athlete success, and wishes her continued success at Monterey Peninsula College.
Stepping into the leadership role is Tony McMillin, a longtime member of the Oxnard College Athletics staff who brings extensive coaching experience, continuity, and a strong commitment to student-athlete development.
McMillin has served on the Oxnard College coaching staff since 2016 and most recently was the Head Assistant Coach for the men's baseball program since 2018. Throughout his tenure, he has played a key role in recruiting, player development, and program operations. He has also previously served as Interim Head Coach for both the baseball and softball programs.
A former standout athlete at Ventura High School and Ventura College, McMillin continued his collegiate career at San Francisco State University. He later earned both a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master's Degree in Communications with an emphasis in Education from Grand Canyon University.
With more than two decades of coaching experience at the high school and collegiate levels, McMillin has contributed to numerous successful programs throughout Ventura County. His coaching philosophy emphasizes fundamentals, accountability, competitiveness, and academic achievement.
"We are excited to have Coach McMillin lead our softball program," said Athletic Director Jonas Crawford. "Tony has been a valuable member of our athletics department for many years and understands the culture and mission of Oxnard College Athletics. We are grateful to Coach Noriega for rebuilding the program and laying a strong foundation, and we look forward to the continued growth of Condor Softball under Tony's leadership."
