Condors Take Game Two on the Road with Shutout Win Over Moorpark
The Oxnard College Condors secured their second win of the series against Moorpark College with a 4-0 shutout on the road Thursday afternoon. The victory improves Oxnard to 8-24-1 overall and 3-14 in WSC play, while Moorpark falls to 8-25 (2-15).

The Oxnard College Condors secured their second win of the series against Moorpark College with a 4-0 shutout on the road Thursday afternoon. The victory improves Oxnard to 8-24-1 overall and 3-14 in WSC play, while Moorpark falls to 8-25 (2-15).
In a tightly contested game through seven innings, both teams were locked in a scoreless battle behind strong pitching performances. Oxnard broke through in the top of the eighth inning when Jonas Ballesteros delivered an RBI single to left field, scoring Josh Nichter to give the Condors a 1-0 lead.
Oxnard added insurance in the ninth inning, capitalizing on timely hitting and Moorpark miscues. Nichter drew a bases-loaded walk to plate William Dalton, extending the lead to 2-0. Ballesteros came through again later in the inning with a clutch two-RBI single down the left field line, bringing home Jacob Stringer and Isaiah Justo to seal the 4-0 victory.
Ballesteros led the offensive effort, going 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Dalton added two hits and a run scored, while Nichter contributed an RBI, a stolen base, and scored twice.
On the mound, Ricky Garcia turned in a dominant performance, earning the win after tossing eight scoreless innings. Garcia allowed just two hits while striking out four and working through four walks across 111 pitches. Chasten Rice closed out the game in the ninth to secure the shutout and earn the save.
The Condors totaled six hits on the day and played clean defense behind their pitching staff, committing no errors. Moorpark managed just three hits in the contest and was unable to capitalize on scoring opportunities.
Oxnard will look to carry the momentum into the series finale as they aim for a sweep over Moorpark.
