MOORPARK, Calif. – The Oxnard College Men's Soccer team (6–2–1, 1–0 WSC) opened Western State Conference play in dominant fashion on Friday afternoon, shutting out cross-county rival Moorpark College (4–4–3, 0–1 WSC) by a score of 2–0 on the Raiders' home field.
After a scoreless first half marked by physical play and strong defensive organization from both sides, the Condors took control late in the match. In the 77th minute, Noe Eulloqui broke the deadlock with an unassisted strike, capitalizing on a loose ball near the top of the box to give Oxnard the lead. With just two minutes remaining, Ernesto Rodriguez sealed the victory, firing home another unassisted goal to put the match out of reach.
Between the posts, goalkeeper Jesus Gonzalez anchored the Condors' defense with a perfect performance—recording three saves en route to his third shutout of the season. The Condor back line, led by Emiliano Rivera and Omar Ochoa, limited Moorpark to just four shots on goal and kept the Raiders from earning a single corner kick.
The victory continues Oxnard's strong momentum heading into the heart of conference play, improving their overall record to 6–2–1. The Condors will look to build on this performance when they return home next week for their next WSC matchup at Condor Field.
