Condors Complete Comeback, Walk Off LA Harbor in Non-Conference Thriller
OXNARD, CA — April 3, 2026 After a tough loss in game one of the doubleheader, Oxnard College softball showed resilience and heart, storming back from an early seven-run deficit to defeat LA Harbor College, 11–10, in dramatic walk-off fashion in the nightcap.

The Seahawks came out swinging, plating seven runs in the top of the first inning behind a flurry of hits, including a bases-clearing double from Brianna Vialpando. Facing a daunting 7–0 hole, the Condors refused to fold.
Oxnard answered immediately in the bottom half of the first when Jiselle Garcia delivered a two-run double to put the Condors on the board. Still trailing 8–2 entering the fifth inning, Oxnard began chipping away.
The rally started with Mia Cardenas driving in a run on a groundout, followed by an RBI single from Alizsa Rosas. Moments later, Alexah Espinoza blasted a triple to right field, bringing the Condors within three at 8–5.
Momentum continued to build in the sixth inning. Amber Cervantez singled home a run, and Cardenas followed with a bases-loaded walk to cut the deficit to one. Rosas then tied the game at 8–8 with an RBI groundout, completing a six-run swing across two innings.
LA Harbor briefly regained the lead in the seventh, scoring twice to go up 10–8. But once again, the Condors responded under pressure.
In the bottom of the seventh, Marylou Flores sparked the rally with an RBI double to make it 10–9. Cervantez followed with a sacrifice fly to tie the game at 10–10. With the winning run just 60 feet away, Flores came through once more—scoring the game-winning run on a wild pitch to cap an unforgettable comeback.
Cervantez went the distance in the circle, earning the win while also contributing at the plate with three hits, three runs scored, and two RBIs. Flores led the offensive charge, finishing 3-for-4 with three runs and an RBI, while Garcia added two hits and two RBIs.
The Condors totaled 12 hits and showed patience at the plate with seven walks, demonstrating a complete offensive effort in the comeback victory.
Oxnard continues to prove its grit this season, bouncing back from adversity and delivering in clutch moments as they build momentum moving forward.
