Condors Comeback to defeat Compton College
The Oxnard College Women’s Basketball team secured a hard-fought 48–41 win over Compton College on Saturday afternoon at the Nest.

After a slow start in the first quarter, the Condors trailed 13–8 but clawed back behind strong rebounding and late defensive pressure. Oxnard outscored Compton 18–9 in the fourth quarter to seal the win, showcasing grit and balance on both ends of the court.
Sophomore Rosalin Moreno led the way with 12 points and 9 rebounds, while her sister, Isabell Moreno matched with 12 points and added 5-for-6 from the free throw line. America Chavez added 10 points and 7 boards, and Sofia Mora dominated the paint with a double-double of 10 points and 17 rebounds. Alyssa Galelayah-Tapia contributed across the board with 6 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals.
The Condors shot 27% from the field but held Compton to just 21%, forcing 18 turnovers while winning the rebounding battle 47–44.
For Compton, Marylou Davis scored a game-high 22 points with 9 rebounds, while Andrea Hinton added 9 points.
With the win, Oxnard improves to 2-2 on the season and will look to carry its momentum into the next matchup at San Bernardino Valley College at 5:00 pm on November 19th.
