Oxnard Holds Off Cuesta, 55–53, in Road Thriller

San Luis Obispo, Calif. — The Oxnard College Condors earned a hard-fought road victory on Saturday afternoon, edging Cuesta College Cougars 55–53 at Stork Gym.
Oxnard controlled the early tempo, building a halftime advantage behind balanced scoring and strong defensive rebounding. Cuesta surged in the third quarter, outscoring the Condors 16–8 to pull even, but Oxnard responded with poise in the final period, closing out the game with timely stops and clutch free throws.
Isabell Moreno led all scorers with 18 points, knocking down five three-pointers and adding four assists. Rosalin Moreno followed with 16 points, including a perfect 5-for-5 effort at the free-throw line. In the paint, America Chavez anchored the defense with 11 rebounds and three blocks, while Sofia Mora contributed eight points and six boards to help Oxnard win the rebounding battle.
Cuesta was paced by Fiona Durham (13 points) and Charlotte Hasson (12 points), but the Condors' defensive pressure forced 17 turnovers and limited the Cougars to 28.6% shooting from beyond the arc.
With the win, Oxnard improves to 8–11 overall and 1–2 in conference play. The Condors return home looking to build momentum as conference action continues. They will host LA Mission College Wednesday, January 21 from 7:00 pm. The Men's game tips of at 5:00 pm vs LA Pierce College.
