Oxnard Men’s Basketball Earns Road Win at LA Pierce, 85–80
The Oxnard College Condors men’s basketball team picked up a hard-fought Western State Conference victory on the road Friday afternoon, defeating the LA Pierce Brahmas 85–80 at Ken Stanley Court.
WOODLAND HILLS, Calif. — The Oxnard College Condors men's basketball team picked up a hard-fought Western State Conference victory on the road Friday afternoon, defeating the LA Pierce Brahmas 85–80 at Ken Stanley Court.
Oxnard set the tone early, taking a 42–38 lead into halftime, and matched Pierce basket for basket in the second half to secure the five-point win. The Condors shot an efficient 49.2% from the field and knocked down 10 three-pointers, providing the offensive balance needed to close out the contest.
Ruben Jimenez led all scorers with 22 points on an outstanding 8-of-12 shooting, adding five assists and three steals. Jose Valdovinos delivered a strong all-around performance with 19 points, eight rebounds, and five assists, while Jeremy Goodcase came off the bench to score 17 points, including two three-pointers and five made free throws. Carl Anoche and Tristan Carter also provided key contributions in the rotation as Oxnard finished with 19 assists on 29 made field goals.
LA Pierce was paced by Mandell Anthony's 24 points, but the Condors' defensive pressure forced turnovers at critical moments and limited the Brahmas to 36.6% shooting from the floor.
The win improves Oxnard's momentum heading into the final stretch of conference play, as the Condors continue to show growth and resilience on the road in WSC competition.
